StopTheSpread is an organization whose mission is to catalyze the private sector response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since early March, StopTheSpread and NIST MEP have worked together, matching StopTheSpread partners with MEP Centers and clients in order to facilitate increased production of personal protective equipment (PPE), testing and treatment equipment, and ventilators. Recently, StopTheSpread joined forces with ImpactAssets an organization raising capital for their COVID Response Fund.
StopTheSpread has opened their intake form to manufacturers facing financial roadblocks in their COVID-19 pandemic response efforts.
Any manufacturer that wants to produce PPE (e.g., masks, gloves, gowns, etc.) or testing and treatment equipment may apply for an impact investment using the intake form. An ideal candidate is a manufacturer looking to scale existing production or one that can reasonably prove the ability to pivot their production within the next three months. Minimum investment is $50,000.
Proposals will be evaluated and follow-up conversations between StopTheSpread and the applicant may occur. Applications will be evaluated based on impact (such as the amount of PPE to be produced), feasibility and timeliness. The entire process may take up to six weeks and a submission does not guarantee an investment.
To apply for an investment, manufacturers should fill out StopTheSpread’s ImpactAssets COVID-19 Response Fund Intake Form.
MEP Centers can bundle applications on behalf of multiple MEP clients.
