Virtual Event: October 20-23, 2020
This October, the US Air Force will launch an inaugural virtual event, the Advanced Manufacturing Olympics (AMO), which is “aimed at translating innovative ideas into enduring solutions” in manufacturing technology across the United States. Distinguished leaders in academia, government and industry will be speaking to discuss the future of advanced manufacturing.
Topics at the Advanced Manufacturing Olympics will include Industry 4.0, 3D printing, augmented and virtual reality, automation and more. There will be open discussion on technical challenges and potential solutions for the Air Force’s sustainment issues. In addition to collaboration and educational opportunities, companies can enter to win five and six-figure cash prizes for their innovations in 3D printing and other advanced manufacturing that addresses specific Air Force challenges. The event will feature Break-Out Sessions with panel and town hall style discussions, an Innovation Playground to demo new technology and breakthroughs, Virtual Expo with ‘booth space’ options and Online Training opportunities for registrants. Small to large manufacturing businesses, non-traditional DoD suppliers, tech start-ups, entrepreneurs and academia students are encouraged to RSVP.
On August 12th, there will be an AMO Pre-Event virtual discussion with United States Air Force General Arnold W. Bunch Jr., Commander, Air Force Material Command and Air Force Research Lab Brigadier General Heather L. Pringle who will present exciting announcements about the AMO. Participants will also hear from companies that have successfully responded to COVID-19 challenges.
